Most of our part time teachers work during the day for CCSD or other school districts in Nevada – and then teach online from home during the evenings. We provide computer and phone. Full time teachers are required to work in the office 1 day a week (Las Vegas – possibly Reno office).
Compensation
Part time teachers are paid $4200 per semester for a block of 55 students (or tenth of) along with bonus incentives (average load for PT teacher = 90 students = $6900). Full time teachers are paid $42,000 the first year regardless of teaching experience or credits.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Princeton Review (TPR) is making a significant investment in advancing its learning product with a particular focus on E-Learning tools and methods. TPR is a leader in test prep and online course delivery and wishes to take a stronger position in the E-learning marketplace. .
TPR is looking for an innovative and energetic leader of our E-Learning effort who will be tasked with formulating the strategy to grow this business, enhancing the current E-learning platform, and managing the Distance Learning business.. More specifically, this position will involve the formulating and executing against the strategy and development of the E-learning platform, establishing partnerships with key E-learning companies, developing course pedagogy and tools utilizing the platform, and ongoing management of our E-Learning course delivery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage the operations of our E-learning business and product line
- Enhance the online student experience with The Princeton Review and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Develop strategy and requirements for the evolution of our E-Learning platform
- Manage the development of E-Learning platform and courses in collaboration with the
Technology Team and the Learning and Content Team.
- Identify viable E-learning and technical partners and develop strategic partnerships
- Create E-Learning courseware, in collaboration with the Research and
Development (R&D) and Marketing Teams, across all TPR test types (SAT, ACT,
- LSAT, GMAT, GRE and MCAT).
- Develop, implement and monitor E-Learning budget and have full responsibility for
profit-and-loss of E-Learning courses
- Create and implement school based- institutional sales strategies and provide full support to these clients

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree

Description: The position serves as part of the University of Louisville’s Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning’s management team. Qualifications:

SCIENCE CURRICULUM DEVELOPER—ADVANCED ACADEMICS
Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Bricktown, Oklahoma City, Okla., Advanced Academics, a company affiliate of DeVry, Inc. partners with school districts to help high school students graduate and succeed. Advanced Academics supplements traditional classroom programs through online course instruction using highly qualified teachers and a proprietary technology platform specifically designed for secondary education. Advanced Academics also operates virtual high schools in partnership with school districts and charter schools in 6 states.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Science Curriculum Developer is a member of the Curriculum Development department and is responsible for evaluating existing science courses for instructional integrity, accuracy, alignment to education standards, and visual and instructional consistency. Based on this evaluation, the Science Curriculum Developer creates and implements build plans for existing courses and writes and/or rewrites academic course content, including text instruction, assessments, and questions. The Science Curriculum Developer also designs new courses and reviews new course content written by outside contract authors. The Science Curriculum Developer stays current on instructional design research and incorporates the latest, most effective teaching strategies into courses. The Science Curriculum Developer is also responsible for responding to curriculum tickets for course maintenance. Tasks require a high level of oral and written communication and problem-solving skills, technical savvy, and the ability to be detail-oriented.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design academic courses by applying the latest instructional design methods
• Write and revise rigorous academic course content, including instructional text, assessments, and questions, that correlates to upper levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy and appropriate Lexile reading levels
• Align academic course content to national and multiple state education standards
• Ensure logic and consistency among instructional elements across courses and within subject matters by applying style and formatting guidelines
• Maintain, update, and make corrections in courses when required
• Maintain accurate and efficient record keeping procedures when handling curriculum tickets and when packaging content
• Maintain regular, professional and clear communication with team members and contract staff to ensure adherence to schedules, deadlines, and goals
• Maintain a complete understanding of Advanced Academics learning management system, ROADS, in order to fully comprehend the possible products and services the company is able to offer
• Participate in professional development opportunities in order to stay current with new educational issues and opportunities nationwide which might have an impact on the business
• Provide and assist other departments with input and resources needed to create a collaborative and service-oriented environment, including working with the sales team to broaden its product knowledge and assist in presentations to clients
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Curriculum and Product Development, as required
CANDIDATE CHARACTERISTICS AND REQUIREMENTS
An advanced degree with a focus in science and minimum of five years of job experience in development or teaching at the secondary level is required. Candidate must demonstrate an in-depth scientific knowledge, specifically in physical science and chemistry, as well as a working knowledge of instructional design and standards-based educational practice. Candidate must have a high degree of technology and computer skills, have strong oral and written communication skills and be available to work a demanding and flexible shift. Candidate should be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and possess a proven track record to meet deadlines. Finally, the candidate should have a passion for education and be highly motivated toward self-discipline and quality work.

Florida Virtual School (FLVS) is an established leader in developing and providing virtual K-12 education solutions to students nationwide. A nationally recognized, award winning, e-Learning model, FLVS was founded in 1997 was the country’s first state-wide Internet-based public high school.
Today, FLVS serves middle and high school students with more than 90 courses. In 2000, the Florida Legislature established FLVS as an independent educational entity with a gubernatorial appointed board. FLVS is the only public school with funding tied directly to student performance. FLVS provides online solutions for grades 6 to 12, as well as for adults seeking GED alternatives both in Florida and out-of-state through their Global Services Division.
Student Enrollment & Coverage Area:
FLVS served over 52,000 students in 87,000 half-credit enrollments in 06-07. Enrollment is open to public, private, and home school students. Students outside Florida enroll on a tuition basis. Course Offerings:

Overview
Insight Schools builds and operates statewide, full-time, diploma-granting, online public high schools in partnership with local school districts and community organizations. Insight Schools’ focus is to educate high-school-age youth who, for a variety of reasons, need an alternative to the traditional public high school experience. The Insight team consists of experienced educators and innovators who have run some of the largest online high school programs in the nation.
Position
We are currently seeking part-time and full-time instructors for all subjects for the 2008/09 school year.
Part-time and full-time status is determined by course type and enrollment and will be discussed with applicant later in application process.
Required Certification
Colorado / Nevada / Idaho
Required Endorsement
An endorsement in the subject for which you apply is required.
Position Description
Our online instructors are responsible for the overall facilitation of assigned courses.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Responding to online students within one school day;
- Identifying and contacting students who have not logged in to class;
- Communicating with students via email and phone;
- Grading and posting grades in the learning management system gradebook each week;
- Communicating with students and parents via phone at least once each semester;
- Conducting parent-teacher conferences, as necessary;
- Leading regularly-scheduled office hour/tutoring sessions each week;
- Communicating regularly with other members of the learning team;
- Completing necessary class/student reports for administrative purposes;
- Advising the Principal and mentors of class and student needs;
- Participating in professional development and training;
- Informally helping to market Insight Schools to students and families;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Online instructors report to the principal.
Desired Skills
Instructors should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Word, basic internet search skills, and comfort working with email. Strong written communication and relationship- building skills and willingness to learn new technologies are essential.
