Job Description:

POSITION:  The Office of eLearning at Norfolk State University seeks applications to fill the position of course developer / programmer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  This position is a key component to the Office of eLearning advancement toward developing interactive resources that address new opportunities. The successful candidate will deploy custom applications and systems integration using client/server and web tools which focus on web-based applications, extensions to the course management system, and databases.  Responsibilities also include facilitating information integration for curricular and reporting systems.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS: To receive consideration, candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or MIS – (Master’s degree preferred). Candidates should also have at least 1 year of experience with Java, JSP, Flash, Flex, PHP, and Ruby, and MySQL.  Experience with the following is desirable: software development using client/server and web tools, relational database, Structured Query Language (SQL), system analysis, and object oriented design.  The ability to articulate applications with creative/graphic design elements that maximize Web interface is a plus.

I’m Too Busy to Pay Attention to Time Management!

I’m always dreaming of the ultimate time management system. I used to joke about the 36 hour graduate student day.  Just right for getting it all done.  These days I rarely have time to joke!   That’s one of the appeals of this great blog article Joan Vandervelde recently sent me.
