Course Description
This course will introduce the theoretical foundations of constructivist e-learning environments and explore educational communications methodologies when creating online courses, web-based curriculum or learning activities. It will provide hands-on experience using free web-based tools for supporting collaborative inquiry in the online classroom building online discussion areas, surveys, rubrics, quizzes, blogs, and tutorials.
Purpose of the Course:
Provide K-12 educators and community college instructors with a basic introduction to
online teaching and learning techniques and technologies; explore applications of e-learning in the traditional classroom; and understand how constructivist learning theories apply in online environments. Gain practical, hands on experience with a wide variety of online communication tools.
