The objective of the Student Success & Engagement department is to minimize online student attrition at Drexel University, and to provide active outreach to students in their first and second term. This position is part-time, with estimated workloads of 20-32 hours/week, and the majority of all job duties will be conducted remotely.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Active outreach through phone, email, skype sessions, and in-person events with new online students (1st and 2nd term) to maximize retention.
Responding to inbound calls, emails, and instant messaging from incoming (1st term) and existing students in Drexel Online programs.
Overseeing new online student performance: track progress in grades, meeting course requirements, and time spent within online classroom.
Intervention: identifying and assisting new students who are at high-risk for attrition with active outreach.
Liaising with university departments on troubleshooting through all retention and re-admittance processes.
Explaining the features and benefits of student services available to Drexel University Online new students.
Providing prompt customer follow-up and problem resolution as needed.
Recording and entering prospect data accurately in all databases.
Delivering superior customer service to new students to support the overall goals of the department and company.
Handling of inbound and outbound calls.
Distributing email and phone mail messages that are received in general mailboxes.
Updating student records in automated tracking systems, including but not limited financial hold resolution, student performance, document receipt, and updating records of all student correspondence.
Open Houses: participating in open houses to provide overview of retention support available to new students.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree
5+ years professional experience, with preference given to candidates with retention advising, academic advising, student affairs, or enrollment experience in higher education
Technical skills including proficiency in internet software, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and Banner are preferred
Superior oral and written communications skills
Excellent problem-solving skills for student resolution on a case-by-case basis
Ability to work both independently and as part of a high-performing team
Evening and weekend hours required
Ability to work remotely with extensive phone outreach
Candidate must be able to physically report to Drexel University for interview process, periodic training and face-to-face events

The job of faculty members at Herzing University has three dimensions irrespective of whether they are working full-time or part-time. These are: Teaching, Service and Scholarship. Faculty members report to an academic program chair, department chair or directly to the academic dean at a campus.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Herzing University Faculty Handbook provides specifics regarding faculty members’ duties and responsibilities. However, they can be summarized briefly as below.

1) Teaching
a) Student Awareness:
i) Interact in a fair and impartial way with students.
ii) Promote and assess student academic achievement.
iii) Counsel students within the norms of society and the regulations of the college.
iv) Motivate students.

b) Instructional:
i) Effectively plan and organize lectures and labs in accordance with the college course outlines.

Job Description:
SUNY Delhi seeks applications for online adjunct faculty in research methods and statistics beginning Fall of 2012. The successful candidate will teach online in the RN-to-BSN program.

Requirements:
Applicants should at a minimum possess a master’s degree in statistics, behavioral sciences, educational psychology, quantitative psychology or a related field and have online college teaching experience.

INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER- CENTER FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING

Responsibilities
  • Assist faculty members as they define instructional goals, assess students’ needs, and develop methods to deliver effective curricula online and on campus
  • Consult with faculty as they review and transform curricula into online courses
  • Direct course and program design projects through their implementation, delivery, and assessment
  • Align  assessment and evaluation strategies, including peer review, with educational standards and systems such as  Quality Matters
  • Provide support as groups of faculty learn to use course management systems, software, and related tools to create and deliver course materials
  • Work collaboratively with related campus offices to plan, develop, and offer workshops and programs
  • Foster a network of colleagues who are developing innovative and creative teaching collaborations.
  • Promote faculty inquiry and research related to online learning
  • Develop, design, communicate, and research best practices and solutions for instructional design
  • Maintain currency with campus initiatives and trends in e-pedagogy including generational and inclusive learning strategies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Applicants must have Master’s degree and five years experience in higher education, instructional or curriculum design, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated understanding of instructional design, including universal design.
  • Extensive technology toolbox of e-learning content development and assessment creation software.
  • Instructional consulting experience and/or experience working in a faculty center.
  • Experience and evidence of success in university teaching.
  • Demonstrated leadership for initiating projects and seeing them to conclusion.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Effective teamwork, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of academic structures and values.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work with instructors from a wide range of academic cultures and disciplines; experience in the STEM disciplines is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of theories of learning and educational research
  • Experience and evidence of success in university teaching
  • Ability to affiliate with an academic department
  • Participation in national organizations focused on teaching, learning, technology in higher education
