UW-Stout: Good Training Opens the Door to Your Future

Beacon Academy of Nevada (a statewide virtual charter school http://beaconacademynv.org) in its second year of operations is looking for online teachers to fill positions in:

  • Social Studies (Full and part time)
  • Math (Full and part time)
  • PE (part time)
  • Health (Full and part time)
  • English (full and part time)
  • Technology(part time)
  • Business(part time)
  • Foreign Languages (Chinese, Spanish, German…)
  • Academic Counselor (full time)
  • SpEd teachers (full and part time)

Applicant Requirements:

  • Nevada secondary (9-12) teaching certificate
  • Passion for technology and teaching

  • Endorsements approved by Nevada Department of Education

Most of our part time teachers work during the day for CCSD or other school districts in Nevada – and then teach online from home during the evenings. We provide computer and phone. Full time teachers are required to work in the office 1 day a week (Las Vegas – possibly Reno office).

Compensation

Part time teachers are paid $4200 per semester for a block of 55 students (or tenth of) along with bonus incentives (average load for PT teacher = 90 students = $6900). Full time teachers are paid $42,000 the first year regardless of teaching experience or credits.

    I am interested in teaaching full time e-learning for Nevada. I saw that one day a week in the office is required. Do you hire people for elearning positions from out of state? If so, would they still have to come in to the office or could there be correspondence by teleconferencing etc?
