Financial Literacy Curriculum Writer – Temporary, Advanced Academics

Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Bricktown, Oklahoma City, Okla., Advanced Academics, a company affiliate of DeVry, Inc. partners with school districts to help high school students graduate and succeed. Advanced Academics supplements traditional classroom programs through online course instruction using highly qualified teachers and a proprietary technology platform specifically designed for secondary education. Advanced Academics also operates virtual high schools in partnership with school districts and charter schools in 6 states.

The Curriculum Writer is responsible for writing content and assessments for the development of an online Financial Literacy course and associated assessments. The Curriculum Writer must possess strong knowledge in subject area and instructional design practices. Strong written communication skills are necessary in order to ensure that the course content is engaging and covers the topics necessary to meet the appropriate state and national education standards. The Curriculum Writer must be able to provide content and assessment items that are rigorous and correlate to middle and higher levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy and that meets Lexile readability standards. Previous teaching experience in Financial Literacy strongly preferred.

Strong written communication skills are necessary in order to ensure that the course content is engaging and covers the topics necessary to meet the appropriate state and national education standards. The Curriculum Writer must be able to provide content and assessment items that are rigorous and correlate to middle and higher levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy and that meets Lexile readability standards.
