<p>Gifted LearningLinks is the online distance-learning program of the Center for Talent Development at Northwestern University. We currently offer over 100 courses to students in grades three to twelve, including enrichment, honors and AP®. The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools accredit CTD as a Special Function School.</p>
<p>Beginning in the fall of 2008 we introduced monthly enrollments for our honors and AP courses. These courses are nine months in duration, but students may accelerate. We are looking for an instructor for AP English Language and Composition and Literary Analysis Honors beginning October 15th.</p>

<p><strong>Summary of Position</strong></p>
<p>Content Producer will oversee the planning and development of grades 5 and higher inquiry-based science curriculum. The Content Producer must be able to determine and develop appropriate content and have excellent curriculum writing skills including the development of expository science text and inquiry-based lab experiments. In addition, he/she must have a strong knowledge of middle school science curriculum, National Science Education Standards, NAEP Framework and AAAS benchmarks.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Location: Washington DC 20036 USA</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p>- Write science content including labs, introduction articles and expository text<br />
Write engaging and age appropriate introduction articles<br />
Create inquiry-based science labs for each mission<br />
Write a culminating field assignment for each mission</p>
<p>- Facilitate content development process<br />
Co-develop curriculum outline and product plan with Curriculum  Team</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Collaborate on topic research and strategic planning</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Monitor the researcher selection process and ongoing researcher follow-up<br />
Coordinate with content vendors to identify timeline, benchmarks and review process for curriculum development<br />
Write and edit content</p>
<p>- Oversee quality assurance &amp; editorial process<br />
Review and validate science curriculum, videos and digital labs for accuracy<br />
Incorporate feedback from internal and external reviewers<br />
Provide detail edits and comments to Curriculum and content vendor teams</p>
<p>- Represent JASON at partner and customer meetings<br />
Present JASON program and philosophy to partners at NGS, NOAA,<br />
NASA and other educational organizations<br />
Report on interaction with JASON partners</p>
<p>- Fulfill other duties as provided by immediate supervisor and Executive staff.</p>

<p>Curriculum writing samples<br />
5+ years teaching science, preferably for grades 5-8 earth or physical sciences<br />
5+ years curriculum development experience, including experience in the development and<br />
implementation multimedia, standards-based curriculum for science teachers<br />
3+ years management experience</p>
<p><strong>Knowledge &amp; Skill Requirements</strong></p>
<p>Knowledge and appreciation for standards-based, hands-on, inquiry-based science<br />
Technology and Internet savvy, with strong skills in Internet/Web-based applications,<br />
Microsoft Word products including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.<br />
Excellent written and oral communication skills<br />
Ability to both independently and within a team environment<br />
Ability to be highly flexible and juggle multiple tasks at once</p>

<p>The Instructional Designer must have background in Instructional Design, familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to work with a web-based learning management system. <p>The Content Editor is responsible for ensuring that written content and assessments from all subject matters adhere to Chicago style. The Content Editor must possess exceptional attention to detail, knowledge of grammar and punctuation, and an eye for consistency. The ability to edit a large volume of content and assessments while still maintaining error-free and consistent prose is required. The Content Editor must work with in-house style guides and also Chicago style guidelines. An outstanding candidate would possess familiarity with Lexile reading levels and have experience rewriting content to match certain grade levels.</p>

We are an online tutoring organization and are looking for experienced people to develop elementary and middle school level content in English reading and writing, for us. The content will be used for online tutoring. Experience in developing grade level content for tutoring in English / Language Arts will be a big plus.<br />
The engagement will be on a contract basis and needs to start immediately. Familiarity with state guidelines (such as TX and CA) will be an added advantage, though not necessary.</p>
