<h3>Essential Duties:</h3>
<p>Design and/or develop technology-based instructional resources to be used in Outreach School(OS) delivered courses, including INBRE courses with primary attention in the development of Math and Science courses. Work in collaboration with the instructional design team which may include faculty. Work in a collaborative environment with colleagues located locally and at a distance, working directly with faculty to provide pedagogical and instructional design consultation to support successful and effective delivery of academic credit courses to students at a distance. Collaborate with the OS Marketing Coordinator in the design, development and maintenance of OS and INBRE web pages, and Web 2.0 Tools for use in marketing, recruitment, and student social networking applications. Advise and assist OS administrators in web and social networking technology and software and their applications to learning environments. Lead in troubleshooting problems with the implementation and performance of instructional design products.</p>
<h3>Knowledge of:</h3>
<p>Computer applications appropriate for development of distance learning courses.  Web design creation, standards and practices.  Established programming procedures and programming languages (html, dhtml, css, asp,JavaScript, PHP, web page creation and web site maintenance).  Principles, procedures and standards of integrated web site structuring and design, including universal design principles.  Available web site software and hardware.  Current authoring languages, editing and authoring tools and related website technologies.  Internet options and functionality and a wide range of internet programming and design tools.</p>
<h3>Skills &amp; Abilities to:</h3>
<p>Excellent oral and written communication skills within an academic setting.  Understand and apply requirements of copyright in a distance learning environment.  Effectively manage time and schedules.  Work independently and as a member of a team.  Use Web page layout and design software.  Evaluate new and evolving website technologies.  Plan effective and organized web site(s).  Work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a distance learning environment.  Troubleshoot, run tests, analyze and resolve web site problems.  Design and maintain web links.  Evaluate and enhance web site performance.  Develop policy recommendations related to web site development and usage.  Translate technical information into user-friendly program documentation.  Demonstrated ability in the use of Web Tools for educational purposes, Flash, XML, Silverlight and videoediting software.</p>

<p>The University of the Pacific has an excellent opportunity for a university-wide Instructional Designer and Coordinator of E-Learning Initiatives. This position is within the Center for Professional and Continuing Education reporting directly to the Associate Provost for Professional and Continuing Education working closely with the Assistant Provost for Faculty Development and the Faculty Center staff. The successful candidate will provide instructional design support for hybrid and fully online courses and programs to be delivered both domestically and internationally. He/She will work with subject matter experts to design, develop and deliver courses that include best practices for academic and training formats integrating multiple technologies and incorporating new media such as audio, video and interactive media. The successful candidate will also coordinate university e-learning initiatives lending guidance and expertise based on online and traditional teaching and learning research.</p>
<p>QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERTISE:</p>
<p>Applicants should have a minimum of three years experience in online instructional design including the integration of technology into both face-to-face and online instruction at the university or comparable level; a Bachelor of Science degree in instructional design, curriculum and instruction, multimedia education, education with online teaching emphasis, or educational technology; an appropriate graduate degree is preferred. Valid driver’s license and eligibility to be insured by the University of the Pacific. Knowledge of instructional design theories, pedagogical methods, and online/hybrid teaching strategies; familiarity with accessibility guidelines and copyright laws; demonstrated ability using academic technology teaching strategies, such as: instant messaging, discussions, web conferencing, blogs, podcasting, wikis, social networking, surveys, exams, and assignments as evidenced by the presentation of a portfolio demonstrating ability to develop courses, best practices, training resources, etc. is required. Ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal, leadership, teamwork and organizational skills; have experience designing and delivering programs and courses for the international marketplace; and have experience working with adult learner programs in a professional and continuing education environment.</p>

<p>Doctorate or terminal degree, minimum of five (5) years experience in a postsecondary institution demonstrating proficiency and understanding of both theory and practical application of learning assessment, planning, and methods in a higher education environment, skill in qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and reporting , knowledge of academic program planning and review or the equivalent of education, training and experience.</p>

<p><a href="http://us.iearn.org/">Job Title: iEARN-USA Online Course Instructional Designer<br />
Start Date: October 30, 2009 – Conditional on Grant Funding</a></p>
<p><a href="http://us.iearn.org/">Responsibilities:<br />
The Instructional Designer will have overall responsibility for designing and implementing two new online professional development courses to prepare K-12 educators worldwide to integrate new technology and collaboration tools into the classroom. Job responsibilities include: collaborating with iEARN professional development and technology staff, as well as representatives of a major software company providing new technology tools to design and build courses that will prepare educators to use these tools; developing and offering professional development training to potential online course facilitators and discussion leaders; collaborating with iEARN technical staff on online enrollment and administration of the two courses, which may have up to 100,000 educator participants; and working with iEARN staff and representatives of the software company to evaluate and develop a certification process for educators successfully completing the courses.</a></p>
<p><a href="http://us.iearn.org/">Qualifications:</a></p>
<p><a href="http://us.iearn.org/">• Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Instructional systems or field related to educational technology. Master&#8217;s degree in Instructional Systems, Education, Communications or related field preferred.</a></p>
<p><a href="http://us.iearn.org/">• Proficiencies in the Moodle CMS and multimedia authoring software such as HTML, PowerPoint, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, and Windows Microsoft Office required.</a></p>
<p><a href="http://us.iearn.org/">• In-depth and demonstrated knowledge, understanding and application of instructional design theory and principles, learning theory, instructional technology, and adult online learning.</a></p>
<p><a href="http://us.iearn.org/">• Ability to apply principles of effective client consultation and team processes.</a></p>
<p><a href="http://us.iearn.org/">• Ability to complete projects within a specified timeline while working on multiple projects simultaneously.</a></p>

<p>Most of our part time teachers work during the day for CCSD or other school districts in Nevada &#8211; and then teach online from home during the evenings. We provide computer and phone. Full time teachers are required to work in the office 1 day a week (Las Vegas – possibly Reno office).</p>
<p><strong>Compensation</strong></p>
<p>Part time teachers are paid $4200 per semester for a block of 55 students (or tenth of) along with bonus incentives (average load for PT teacher = 90 students = $6900). Full time teachers are paid $42,000 the first year regardless of teaching experience or credits.</p></div>

<p><strong>Description: </strong><br />
This position will support Aventa, IQ Academies, and/or Keystone curriculum and students.</p>
<p>Applicant must possess a middle grades or secondary state teaching certification in the subject and grade-level he or she is teaching, in addition to a computer with the appropriate Internet connectivity and software.</p>
<p><strong>Specific Responsibilities: </strong><br />
The Teacher will teach courses following a proactive instructional methodology, such as:</p>
<p>Contact each new student to welcome them to the course.<br />
Contact each new mentor to introduce yourself and provide any additional information about course requirements/expectations.<br />
Contact individual students who are inactive for a period of 7 or more days.<br />
Contact the mentor if a student is inactive for a period of 7 days or more.<br />
Closely monitor student progress relative to their individual course schedule.<br />
Monitor end dates to ensure students are staying on track in the course and proactively contact the student and mentor if concerns arise or if an extension is recommended.<br />
Provide motivating, timely, and constructive feedback for student assignments.<br />
Provide motivating comments and constructive feedback for each assessment item.<br />
Maintain a safe learning environment.<br />
Follow acceptable use policy and FERPA guidelines.<br />
Evaluate all subjective assessments (homework assignments as well as subjective exam components) and assign an appropriate grade to each within 72 hours of student submission.<br />
Ensure that final grades are issued in a timely manner when a student completes a course, within 5 days of when the student&#8217;s last assignment was submitted or when his or her end date has passed.<br />
Communicate effectively with students and mentors at different technology skill levels to support instruction and advance educational goals.<br />
Hold weekly instructional synchronous chats (1 hour session per week) via Elluminate and ensure that students unable to attend these sessions have access to recorded meetings.<br />
Provide useful information to students to support success in each course by updating the course home/syllabus area in each course section at a minimum to ensure that it includes a complete syllabus, an explanation of course policies, grading policies, staff information, contact information, and other appropriate information needed as students take the course.<br />
Respond to student and mentor inquiries, questions and requests for help within 24 hours of receipt, regardless of the medium (email, phone call, etc.)<br />
Demonstrate the proper and proficient distribution of announcements and updating these regularly (at least weekly) so that enrolling students feel welcomed and part of the course.<br />
Manage and communicate effectively via the telephone, email, and Message Center.<br />
Demonstrate the proper use of voice mail (if applicable).<br />
Manage and communicate effectively via the discussion board.<br />
Demonstrate the proper use of the discussion board, create forums, ensure students stay on topic, and maintain a collaborative environment.<br />
Demonstrate sufficient use of a Web browser and search engine to locate and evaluate technology-based educational sites that support the instruction and enhance interactivity. Demonstrate proficient distribution of websites.<br />
Work with other staff and faculty in a cooperative, professional manner.<br />
Effectively review courses on an as-needed basis to ensure accurate and current content/assessments.<br />
Collaborate with staff, teachers and/or course writers on an as-needed basis in order to enhance the curriculum.<br />
Actively monitor and participate in the Teacher Resource Center and Online Instruction Community, including actively engaging in discussion groups for teachers and others teaching courses and contributing ideas and resources.<br />
Serve as a master teacher to other teachers teaching courses (if applicable).<br />
Participate in faculty meetings, department meetings, APÒ trainings (including summer institutes if applicable), hardware, software and/or educational training sessions as scheduled.<br />
Provide at least two weeks notice before taking any vacation consisting of three or more days off.<br />
Keep accurate, organized records.<br />
Maintain educationally sound rubrics and apply them to the grading process.<br />
Demonstrate ability to record and submit time via Journyx on a weekly basis.<br />
Pursue professional development opportunities.<br />
Satisfy all continuing educational requirements as dictated by state teaching certification.</p>

<p>Instructional Supervisors play a key role in the company’s pursuit of continual progress toward supporting students and their families with industry leading, instructionally sound, and timely educational support. Under the leadership of the Manager of Instruction, this role will supervise the efforts of assigned instructional staff within KC Distance Learning Inc. These tasks include serving as a supervisor for faculty within an assigned core curriculum area, supporting a teaching load across all KCDL divisions, aiding the Manager of Instruction in regards to day-to-day operational management of the instructional staff, and supporting instructors through the development and delivery of training and mentoring. This job also entails participation in the curriculum development research and processes at KCDL. This role will assist in guiding KCDL curricular issues by serving, along with other Instructional Supervisors, as a core source of knowledge on high school curriculum, national trends and initiatives.</p>
<p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p>
<p>- Supervise, motivate, support, and direct faculty as per Service Level Agreements.<br />
- Allocate staff assignments; monitor substitute faculty selection and assignments.<br />
- Guide faculty toward addressing the various learning styles and needs of students.<br />
- Conduct department meetings as necessary for the proper functioning of KCDL.<br />
- Establish and maintain accurate and complete faculty records relative to qualifications, achievement, and performance.<br />
- Participate in the development of new faculty training and mentoring materials.<br />
- Conduct new faculty training; serve as mentor to new faculty.<br />
- Assist with the implementation and observance of all educational policies, procedures, and guidelines for faculty.<br />
- Assist with interviewing, selecting, securing, and retaining highly qualified faculty<br />
- Assist with faculty performance appraisals.<br />
- Participate in the development of faculty in-service programs.<br />
- Provide a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate educational environment.<br />

- Support a school culture and climate conducive to effective teaching and learning.<br />
- Collaborate with other faculty in delivery of appropriate instructional approaches.<br />
- Provide leadership in choosing supplemental services beneficial to students.<br />
- Research current subject matter knowledge and learning theory.<br />
- Assist with ongoing curriculum evaluation and development to meet the needs of students.<br />
- Assist with developing and refining curriculum.</p>
<p>Experience and Education:</p>
<p>- Master’s Degree required<br />
- Acts 34 and 151 clearances required<br />
- Applicants must possess a Pennsylvania Secondary Teaching Certification in the subject area(s) they supervise.<br />
- Applicant must have at least 1 – 2 years supervisory experience.<br />
- Applicants must pass a criminal background check and provide fingerprint clearance verification.<br />
- Experience working with/for distance education providers and educational technology desired<br />
- Several years experience in public or private school setting preferred</p>

Teachers are needed in all disciplines, including ESL. National and international applicants are welcome. Applicants should be certificated in the area in which they wish to teach, or have 3 years experience in career-tech areas.</p>
<p>Teachers are needed in all the following areas:</p>
<p>English 4th-12th Grade<br />
Math 4th-12th Grade<br />
Social Studies 4th-12th Grade<br />
Science 4th-12th Grade<br />
Health<br />
ALL AP courses<br />
ESL<br />
