Audio Collaboration

Pictures & Voice

Podcasting is one way of ‘narrow-casting’ information in an online course. An off-shoot of this idea can be seen in a new type of Web 2.0 software typified by these two systems:

voice thread

Voicethread: http://voicethread.com/

yakpak

YakPak: http://www.yakpak.com/

Each of these systems let’s a group post photos and attach audio narration to those photos. It’s a great way to create stories where you can hear the voices of the group! I see applications for icebreakers in an online classroom, publication of student writing, and a remarkable venue for both oral history & international collaboration projects.
